“If This Is Love” update!

So here’s an update on my new single – “If This Is Love”! There are two remixes available – one by Groove Police (Mike Rizzo and Josh Harris) and one by Soul Seekerz. Additionally, SO far Gay Chicago Magazine and Boston’s Nighttimez Magazine have run pieces (the latter I was featured on the cover! yay! Much love to my second hometown of Boston!).

I’ve also been having DJs/remixers reach out to me asking to remix the new song. All very exciting. And next month they’ll be even more magazines running features!

2009 Wrap Up: “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…”

“…it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

That was a quote inscribed on a gift that my mom gave me for Christmas. I love it, and it’s probably one of the most important things that I not only came to understand, but learned how to ENACT in 2009.

What a mixed bag 2009 was! I had some fantastic moments in my career. I sang for the Dodgers not once but twice. I performed at LA Pride. I worked on a new project with fantastic producers, remixers, writers, and managers, and 2010 will start off with a bang as that project finally makes its way to the ears of the listening public. I started singing with my church choir and that has opened so many doors professionally AND personally.

Not to say that 2009 didn’t have its low points………. but the last quarter of this year made me feel really proud of myself. It proved to me that every day is indeed a new day, and a new chance to pick yourself up. I’m starting to learn better resiliency skills. I’m learning to expand my horizons. My class at UCLA was such an eye-opener as far as showing me that there are many dimensions to life, and to me (I’m taking another class starting next week!). I also learned that happiness isn’t dependent on where you are or what you’re doing… as spacey and new-agey as it may sound, happiness truly is a state of mind.

To sum it up, I am ending 2009 happier than when it started. So 2009 – I consider you a success!

Along with releasing new music in the very near future, I am also debuting a new website! There are a lot of new features with this site — one of the most important ones being the interactivity of it. On the bottom of many of the pages on my site, you’ll notice that there are places for you to make comments — so please do! So much of what I create and do, whether it’s my music, my writing, or causes I become involved, is influenced by YOU. The community that surrounds me and my music is very important. And yes I will read all of the comments…….. until I become bigger than Wonder Bread, and then I’ll have to pay someone of course. But I’m sure you all understand. :-P kidding

This site is going to constantly be changing as well, and many new features will be added in the near future, so please keep checking back. Subscribing to my RSS feed or even better, to my mailing list, is a great why to stay in the loop.
